Hej hej! I'm an ex-cigarette smoker myself. Gave them up about two and a half years ago and now I really just smoke my pipes (though I do help myself to a Cuban or two when I'm in Stockholm). I never inhale on the pipe.
So we've got a couple Swedes, and an American living in Sweden on here now. Jättekul!

Attukson you need to try some of G.L. Pease's offerings to. Kensington, Meridian and Lagonda should be right up your alley.

I also inhale every third or fourth puff. I do love the nic hit, it is a vital part of my pipe enjoyment.

Wow!!! I've been doing the Breath Smoking for a while and sort of discovered it on my own. Cool that it's actually a pipe smoking technique. Great way to guarantee a nice slow relaxing smoke. One way to guarantee a non tongue bite experience too.

Nothing wrong whatsoever in inhaling the smoke from a pipe.

Some will contend it's not proper or correct or insert-your-stuffed-shirt-platitude-here, but as many have stated in this thread, it's all up to you!!
I'm a reformed cigarette smoker of 35 years or so. When I took up the pipe I did everything in my power to NOT inhale. Wasn't that awfully hard to do really, most blends didn't feel good when inhaled anyway.

These days I don't stress it any at all. A puff here, a puff there that goes allll the way down, no big deal.

I am enjoying my tobacco.
It's all up to what you want atuukson.

If you don't want to inhale, you'll probably be able to accomplish that eventually if you stick with the briar.
OTD pretty much said it. I smoked cigarettes for over 40 years. I think maybe the longer you smoke cigarettes, then the more inhaling becomes ingrained.Your body and mind want that quick N fix! Some one who has only smoked the cigarettes for a few years will find it easier to not inhale, easier to un-learn it I guess.
no inhale, pipe tobacco isn't processed/meant to be inhaled like cig tobacco (thank goodness []

Huh?

Nope, I never inhale, but congrats on quitting the cigs. I'd try to wean yourself of inhaling if you could...gotta be better for you and make you last longer for more enjoyable pipe smoking.

Congratulations on quitting cigs. As an ex cig smoker I had trouble pacing myself and not inhaling. Over time I inhaled less and less. You will get to the point where you are no longer smoking to satisfy a nicotine addiction. As for pace, I always found counting numbers rather mundane. I simply wait two complete breathes. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, sip. Works well and you can do it without thinking about it eventually. Best of luck.
