Impressions of SG Lakeland Dark?

I lucked into actually being able to purchase some Samuel Gawith this (US) side of the pond. I ordered a few tins of Lakeland Dark, hoping it might be another strong, simple burley/va flake like Peterson's Irish Flake. Any impressions from you folks here who have tried it?

Lucky you. Good score. I have not had it in a long time. I always liked it. Solid strong smoke. Good flavor.

I just tried it today for the first time. I smoke a lot of Irish Flake, and the LD gives it a real run for its money. Very, very favorably impressed. I think you'll be happy with it.

It’s my favorite SG along with 1792. Just fantastic. So much depth and flavor.

I like both Lakeland dark by S&G and G&H Dark Flake, although ,the latter I'm simply unable to enjoy properly due to high nic in it, but both tastes great ,

Nothing like Peterson's Irish Flake.It has that Lakeland aroma/taste about it, which may scare some smokers off.I like it.Very strong/flavor forward, like 1792,but with out the Tonka thing going on quite so much.I mixed 10% in with my tub of Grainger.

I'm quite fine with Lakeland -- by comparing with Irish Flake I meant a relatively simple but quite
strong flake blend. Thanks for your input!

I got it from the Briary-dot-com. They may still have some, I didn't try to buy them out or anything lol
