Of all the "Holiday Blends" Theirs is probably my favorite. That being said, I've never had McClelland's Christmas Cheer which I've heard is tremendous.C&D is dropping "We Three Kings" on August 26th. I'm already prepared for the lunacy.

I loathe the whole limited batch release model. If it's something that looks good to me, I'll try to get some but I won't wail and gnash my teeth if I miss out. This is one I will probably sit out, I’m holding out for the next Carolina Red Flake release.
I understand your position. For me personally at this point in my smoking life some of these limited batches are diversions while I’m waiting on certain things to age. I probably go in for one or two a year, but I feel like my approach is similar to yours in that I’m not going to feel left out or get upset if it’s all gone by the time my dumb ass notices it went on sale.I loathe the whole limited batch release model. I agree with both of you. My problem is I have a collecting disease and I hunt the hard to find stuff. If it’s a limited release or difficult to obtain, I’m in. It’s more about the chase and more about me than the actual blend.I understand your position. That’ll take a genuine Christmas miracle, unfortunately.
I was being a bit facetious. I do like Mephisto, once upon a time I had an Abi Natur pipe dedicated to it, but I'm no longer in the market for more tobacco. That’ll take a genuine Christmas miracle, unfortunately.
How do you think I got commissions from nearly impossible carvers?

Considering the USDA says a bale of flue cured tobacco weighs 750 pounds that would mean 10,000 2oz tins wouldn't even be a bale and a half of tobacco. In that context, it seems pretty small.Just a little marketing smoke and mirrors to sell a years supply of a blend in a few days/weeks.
I forget which blend it was but they had a 10,000 tin "limited release", to which I ask: what makes it limited anymore? Do they sell more than 10,000 of a single blend in a year otherwise?

It seems limited, to me, given it's barely more than a single bale of tobacco.I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here but I just meant I don't know they'd sell 10,000 tins of a new blend if it was just a "normal release".
