only had that happen with my crapiest pipe. It wasn't a loss I knew there was a good chance the cheap bastard would be a cheap bastard. But what I remember was how horrid it tasted when it got to where the pipe burnout. So how'd it taste when the thing kicked the bucket?
Acrid. Like getting too close to a bonfire. But I was at the dottle of a tall bowl of bothy flake, so I could hardly tell. ?

A wood shop is definitely one of the last places I’d want to smell burning. As sad as it is, I’m glad it was just your pipe!!
I checked every trash can, bucket, dust collector, and scrap pile in the shop. The smell never got stronger or weaker because it turns out I was walking around with the fire literally right in front of my nose!

It looks like the drilling for the tenon goes almost to under the bowl? It's nuts to me how much tar is built up in there and where.

I was hoping the burn out would have a cone shape from the sand pit or whatever, but it just looks like a straight hole.
