I love that Pipe! It would be like smoking a golf ball!
I've purchased four meers thus far, and they all see regular use. One particular (light aromatic) blend I enjoy is Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Morning Blend. It really seems to shine for me in an Altinay smooth dublin meerschaum.
I hope really hope you enjoy that pipe, Mike.

I was the same as you (being a briar / cob guy) and then I got a meer and really seem to prefer them to the others. Well, maybe I only prefer them when I have time to sit and relax. At other times I find myself reaching for my cobs and briars.

But overall, I think you'll enjoy the meer experience. It's a whole new world!

A meer is a great addition to your smoking repertoire, and you selected an eye catching pipe. I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment!

Joining this site has broadened my opinion of different "flavours" of pipe. Styles of craftsmanship and materials I never considered for 35 years have entered my experience and I am excited about pipes again, the way I was at 25. If only I could find the girls I knew then now....

Great looking pipe! I don't notice much difference between smoking briars and meerschaum other than the obvious weight difference and longer break in period of meerschaum. You may notice the pipe muting familiar flavors for the first several smokes until it starts to become saturated with oils and tar.

That was a spot-on insight. I texted my buddy in Oklahoma that the smoke was very cool but that the flavors seem muted or muffled. We will see how it is in after about 10 bowls.

Thanks, everyone for the commenta.
