Ordered:
1. Spark Plug
2. Oak Alley
3. Warped The Haunting
4. Solani Aged Burley Flake
5. Solani VaPer 633?
6. Gawith Hoggarth Dark Birds eye
Dark flake and Kentucky I’ve had many of but not your lighter stuff. I’ve got haunted book shop, old Joe krantz, purple cow, Billy Budd. At first I wasn’t a fan much of these but over time they’ve found a place. Especially when I want something other than my normal Virginia and VaPer, Balkan blends

also got more Best Brown #2.
I want to try some of the Watch City blends as well in future.

Anyway, for you Burley guys, any of these you have opinions on? I know Solani is popular and looking forward to trying that.

I do like Lakelands but to me they’re a different world than say, old Joe krantz.

always searching for that new love. Def fear of missing out affects my TAD. lol.

5. Solani VaPer 633?
This one is a great VaPer, more like a spicy flavorful steak. It ages really well, too. If you are into Burleys, you should definitely check out Five Brothers; it is simple, one dimensional, easy to pack and smoke right out of the pouch. Another favorite Burley blend of mine is John Patton Moe's Confetti, very rich and has deep flavors.

I have smoked Justice Mixture and Americano so far, both were good but nothing special. I have yet to try Watch City Slices, they are praised a lot.

HH Old Dark Fired is a Home Run! MacBaren knocked this one outta the park. I have a bit from 2015. But definitely not an everyday choice.

Solani ABF - I have a tin opened. It’s good. It’s cocoa forward and smooth.

The others you’ve listed I have not tried.

I get caught up in reviews too but I’m being serious, I just love my OTC Burleys.

Happy smoking.

Solani is fantastic and I've begun cellar it actively after getting ahold of a 10 yr old tin that while needing serious resuscitation, eventually turned into a wonderful treat.

Amphora Burley is probably my favorite Burley at the moment.

Always wanted to try Solani’s ABF, Silver, all that, but at those prices, I’ve never been able to feel comfortable pulling the trigger on them.

If you can find it in stock, Wessex Burley Slice is a pretty fair alternative at a better price point. Not quite the depth of flavor as the Solani offering but still quite good.

I came to recommend Wessex Burley Slice as well. I love the Solani ABF (and the other Solani flakes, too) but the Wessex is the best classic “Edgeworth-style” Burley in my book. I tend to gravitate toward the mildly-sweet, cocoa-and-nutty Burleys these days. Don’t get me wrong, the more bold, rustic stuff is good too and I also smoke the hell out of some Toscanos.

I also think Amphora Original Blend is excellent, especially for the price. And Cornell & Diehl Redburn. Trust me, it’s crazy good if you’re after something more complex that still has all-day potential.

I'm coming at this from the other side, trying to get back to some Virginia blends while drawn always to burley single leaf and blends. My current rotation includes Peterson Irish Flake and Amphora Burley, among others. To me, Royal Yacht, which is Virginia based, gets a curious burley spin from its secret sauce flavoring (plum?). Cornell & Diehl reconsidered Burley back in the Tarling era in Morgantown, N.C., and SP has continued the creative use of burley. I like Old Joe Krantz original, Billy Budd, Bayou Night, and other of their blends. I'd suggest Tabac-Manil Semois burley variant.

If you are exploring Burleys, try one of the Semois tobaccos from Belgium. Very different from the typical burleys! They are all the same tobacco (or so they say), just different cuts, yet they all have a bit different flavor characteristics. In general, sweet, earthy, woodsy, though some say floral but I don’t taste or smell it. The flavor and aroma reminds me of Cuban cigars with a twang that you can’t quite describe.

I got some Semois and it definitely reminds me of a Havana cigar. Problem is, it's not as good as a Havana cigar and when I want that profile, well, it's time for a Havana cigar!

IJack Knife Plug is a great burley blend. Most descriptions don't mention "burley", but it's my understanding that dark fired Kentucky is a burley...uh, that's been dark fired....possibly in Kentucky...?
