I’ve lived in Louisiana my whole life, so this might be a normal thing to any of you that live somewhere north of here, but we obviously got hit by those two big winter storms this past week. We don’t usually see much winter precipitation, and if we do, it doesn’t usually last long in our usual temperatures. I expected to wake up to a slushy mess from our recent snow and ice melting away, but instead woke up to this. Everything was covered in huge delicate ice crystals. have NEVER seen frost this big:

I’m in Texas. We only lost power for fifteen minutes. We have well water and the line from the pump to the house froze, but I was able to thaw it out with a hair dryer. Still it’s been a little crazy here. We had this visitor in the middle of the morning. View attachment 67039
We usually have coyotes all around the house at night, but I haven’t heard ours lately. They usually howl at the trains.

I grew up in Northern Florida. I can remember how fun it was, every couple years, having snow flakes on the ground.

Now that I am IL, I am less appreciative of snow. Remember, SNOW is a four letter word.
