I have a silver Kiribi lighter. Over the course of time, the outer part (near the flame) has become caked in black. What is the best way to clean this up?

Alcohol and Q-tips.

Yupe. Alcohol. Since I take daily insulin shots, I just wipe my lighter with alcohol wipe.

Yup, what the others said. I clean every time I refill, using Q-tips or pipe cleaners dipped in some alcohol. Takes the schmoo and schmeck right off and makes it look like new again.

Toothbrush and alcohol or lighter fluid. Pipe cleaner to get under some parts.

I even take a small brass brush and clean the wheel from flint particles. Alcohol for all the rest.
