I bought a pouch of unopened hollandia tobacco from an antique store and discovered it's no longer made. I'm wondering now if i should save it or smoke it? Would there be in value to it? This is one of those situations I'm wondering if I've got something I should save or is it not worth much and should just enjoy it

It could have collector value. Might want to research a little.
I won an unopened tin of Prince Albert from the early 1900's for less than $10. When the seller figured out the true value he made up some crap about not being able to sell tobacco and never completed the sale.

I think I'll give it a puff, I figure it was probably the guys favourite tobacco and he bought a pouch to save when it went out of circulation as I also got some nice pipes and stands and humidors all from the same estate. A pouch is worth 25$ Canadian and I doubt it would be worth more than that, I'm not worried at all about the age of it and smoking it, if anything its been aged. Still I'll do a bit of research, I found a tin worth about 10$ on eBay, only the tin without the baccy inside made by hollondaia

Well about a year and 6 months later I'm smoking my first bowl. It starts off very mild for the first few puffs and then starts to gain some strength. It's no holy grail, but it's pretty nice, I could see how it would probably would of been alot of people's every day smoke. After probably 60 years in a pouch that was sealed it was dry as can be, but remoistening it it had actually retained the ready rubbed look of your typical ready rubbed flake. Doesn't bite, I'm sure alot of the flavor dissapeared but what's left is a nice mild smoke. You can taste the Va coming through and there's a nice mild sweetness to it. For 12$ for the pouch I'm happy. It's a testament I guess to how tobacco will survive and not turn to dust provided it's not scrunched up and stored without disturbing it.
