Maybe it's time to spew some new pirate verses, but, frankly, it's too hot and I'm not inspired.

Dave Barry, the Miami Herald columnist, and his friends thought up this holiday. Here in North Carolina, down at the coast, we have the actual shipwreck of Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's flagship, where he apparently scuttled it one step ahead of the Royal Navy. It was sunk in relatively shallow water and evaded discovery, despite all the diving done in the area, for centuries.
