I found a used Peterson on ebay I couldn't say no to:peterson.jpg

Bowl was way more caked than expected - my reamer took care of that - though the bottom of the bowl seems to be hanging onto some extra cake my reamer doesn't want to get to
Question 1) Should I pull more cake out, or just getting most of it out is enough?

Stem was brown with oxidation. Tossed it in some Oxiclean/water mix... then started reading online about how to clean/de-oxidize vulcanite and find out oxiclean might not be the best bet.
Pulled the stem out, dried it, tossed some olive oil on it (sorry, only oil I've got around)
Question 2) How would you finish getting rid of the vulcanite oxidation and then polish? (I do have a bench top polisher I could put product/polish/wax on)

The pipe is rusticated and I love it, but it's dulled with time.
Question 3) How do you "restore" a rusticated finish? Polish? Clean? no idea what's best/what product/way to do it.
(I'm also not opposed to removing the finish/stain and doing a new finish)
