Greetings,
I feel like i have hit a brick wall.

I used to truly enjoy aromatics and still do but this time around i am struggling to find something that doesn't have a sweet aftertaste.

I bought some English to try and totally get into it but i dont want to break in a new pipe with english. I have an Excellent pipe for my english already.

Purpose of this post:
Help figuring out some nice but NOT sweet tobacco.

I have been reading reviews and writeups so much on tins that i have no idea.

Might be getting an early Christmas Present. A Peterson Army and i dont need another pipe sitting in my rack tasting sweet all the time.

Thank You

Um…..just smoke no-aros?

Or you could try some semi-aromatics. MacBaren Vanilla Roll Cake, PS Luxury Twist Flake, Peterson University Flake, GH Rum Flake, and 4th Gen 2012 Flake are some good ones.

Nice toppings that are noticeable but don’t dominate like they do in your standard goop.

Erinmore Flake has been the only "aromatic" blend that I have truly enjoyed and smoked more than a tin of. Most aromatics that I buy (or are bought for me) are smoked a couple of times and then get tossed.

But I truly enjoy Erinmore Flake. I hear that it is vastly different from the Erinmore Mixture which is a ribbon cut. I cannot confirm nor deny that statement, but I do have a tin of the Mixture that I purchased by mistake thinking it was the Flake. I've had it for over a year and plan on cracking it to see if I enjoy it.

I'll also say that I enjoyed PS Luxury Twist Flake, but not as much as Erinmore Flake. It has a coconut/caramel-ish topping on it. I didn't like it at first, but it kind of grew on me and I ended up smoking the full 2oz that I bought.

Its like when Gina and i started cutting out sugar - everything began to taste way to sweet.

I bought some half and hlaf thinking it would be a more natural and non aromatic.
To me its got this sweet medicine cherry aftertaste.
Yuk!!

While i was waiting on my winter stock up order my local smoke shop only had their cherry cavendish in an 8 oz and black and gold.

Went with the cherry and by the second day i was thinking about the dried leaves sitting on the ground would be better.

Now anything real sweet or cherry just makes me very unhappy.

I just hit the wall trying this and that and finding there is an overbearing sweet taste.

Just need a break from sweet

Smoke some non-aros man. Have you not tried any?

Tastes change over time.
There were periods when I preferred aro's over non-aro's and vice versa.
That has not been an issue since I started mixing up the genres through the day rather than smoking the same type of blend or genre until I tire of them.

Try Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop, it's a non-aro burley blend and is great for breaking in a pipe and just smoking whenever, and it won't leave any ghost behind...see what I did there! 😉
