Hello from Upstate New York

Hello everyone! My name is Tony and I am from Upstate New York. I have been a pipe smoker for about a year and a half now. Although I haven't been a pipe smoker for too long, I dove straight into the deep end of the hobby pretty early on. Since the first smoke, I have enjoyed smoking a pipe and collecting both pipes and tobacco. I smoke fairly regularly, one bowl every night if I'm busy and two to three if I have some free time or am working around the house. I normally smoke English blends and burley blends, most of which are on the darker and stronger side. Some of my favorite tobaccos are HH Burley Flake, Nightcap, My Mixture 965, Squadron Leader, and Haunted Bookshop. I'm looking forward to talking to you all on the forums, and I hope to pick up some sage knowledge.

That’s exactly why I said upstate. If you just say New York people automatically assume that you’re from the city.

No. Illinois for one.

And "Down East" comes from the old schooner trading days, where leaving from Boston you generally sailed down wind to get there, and the coast line meanders Easterly and Northerly.
