An Irishman living in lovely Chicago suburbs!

Been in the hobby for many a year - frequenter of Iwan Ries and lover of all things tobacco related.

Recently got my entire jarred collection out and wanting to rediscover this great hobby.

Been 2 years since I've been involved - sad to see McClelland gone, lots of Russ' blends out of production, Dunhill is now Peterson and some other oddities. I dare not ask about Esoterica and all the hubub about Penzance et al.

Nice to meet you all.

It sure is - I used to nip over there after lunch for a quick bowl and to browse the shelves. Great place.

I'm from a near-northwest suburb of Chicago, grew up there on the Chicago and Northwestern commuter line, now called something else, and within walking distance of Edison Park, a borough of the city. I've been in N.C. since 1972, washed up on the shore, so to speak, on the GI Bill, after a hitch in the Navy. Welcome aboard. I've been to Ireland twice, first on a motor trip with my late wife, and later staying in Dublin only, where by chance I attended the 150th birthday of Oscar Wilde at Trinity College, when his lookalike grandson presented readings from Oscar himself. I enjoyed seeing The Books of Kell, the great old library there with the balconies.
