Welcome aboard, and to our community.

You seem to understand the appeal of pipe smoking and the "ritual".

Don't be shy, post your questions, and comments...

We look forward to them.

Welcome to the addiction Lono. You speak excellent English. Where did you learn it? I would love to speak French 1/2 as well as you speak English.

I was so excited to say "Hi and Welcome" that I hit the wrong button
ETA:

Another woman pipe smoker!!!

I'm new too :) Hi!!! and Welcome, although, I'm so new, I feel like I'm welcoming you to someone else's home. Like it isn't my place to do so. But, that's just me. People are very nice here.

You'll find that there are many very cool people who post here. All have some very good advice on a lot of different pipe/tobacco subjects. I ask a lot of questions (some are probably very dumb) but none were answered as if they were dumb.

I keep this link open in a separate tab: http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/terminology It helps to go and see what stuff means.

Welcome to the forum lono, I hope you enjoy this hobby as much as I do. If you decide you want to delve into the world of Virginia and Virginia/Perique flakes, please feel free to contact me for some recommendations. I love my flakes and I have many that are part of my regular rotation. I believe that flakes take time to learn how to smoke and appreciate, but you seem to enjoy the patience part of this hobby so you may just be a natural flake smoker. To my tastes they are the sweetest tasting tobaccos.
