So @Bowie generously sent me a sample of Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman. Packed it in my MM pipe of the same name. Pretty dry and not oily or humectant-y at all. tastes good from the lightLook it up on TR and surprised to see it’s made by Lane?!

Do they have any other products this good?

I’ve always been disappointed in everything I tried made by them. But had you not told me this one was made by Lane they would have been close to my last guess. So are there any other sleepers out there that aren’t oily or laced with PG?

I think Lane goes for high volume blends, hence the (to me) over-flavored aromatics that sell extravagantly well, like the ever-popular 1-Q under a thousand pipe shop names. But they do some good blends around the edges, depending on your tastes. Missouri Meerschaum may have had a good influence on them too, dealing with cob smokers who may have simple tastes, but know their tobacco pretty well. As a group, they/we are not easily bedazzled.
