Both wives (I was a widower) and my younger sister have had trials and tribulations in their careers and stood up for themselves in commendable ways. Same credentials as men, most often not offered the full-time job, the tenure, the pay raise, the comparable salary. I mostly don't rant about it because it seems to diminish the amazing things they have done, but when I get going, I go on. I'd be hugely proud of any one of those three careers, if it were mine. Possibly insufferable.
