Sometimes it doesn’t take something new to be a great surprise. We are just finishing a major renovation on our house. We spent part of Christmas unboxing and restocking various things that had been stored during the renovation. I may have mentioned somewhere else that I had taken a break from pipe smoking for a couple of decades and moving and packing my collection is what sparked my interest and rekindled my passion.
After rescuing a number of my pipes from storage I knew for sure that I was missing a couple of pipes as well as a couple of stands. Imagine my delight when I spotted one of the stands under a table. One of the pipes that I knew was missing was on it. An Ascorti Business that I purchased from Tender Box around 1983. What was also on it were several pipes I had completely forgotten that I had Including a small Charatan, a Savinelli Autograph, Ascorti and Caminetto. The biggest surprises was a Sea Rock briar. What an awesome Christmas present. I”ll post them on “what are you smoking” as I get to them, but here is a quick peek on the stand.
