Handmade Pipe from Tim Beaumont of Papa Bear’s Pipes

I recently commissioned a pipe from Tim and it turned out more beautiful than I expected. I wanted an all wood pipe, so he made me one with a briar stummel and an Osage Orange stem (bois d’ arc to us in Texas and Louisiana). I love the unique feel of the stem and just wanted to show it off to my fellow aficionados.

Thanks, fellers. It’s surprisingly very lightweight. Clenches easily and the stem has a slight sweet taste to it. Very pleasant. The only downside is it’s impossible to not leave teeth marks (or scuffs rather) and, I think, you need to let it rest a bit more as the moisture softness the wood.

It’s a wonderful pipe and something you don’t see everyday.
