I love this stuff! My ol’ codger dad loves it too. It smokes good moist, dry, and anywhere in between. For me, I get the best flavors when it’s fairly dry, which is odd, as I almost only smoke straight Virginia’s, and they have to be fairly moist for me to like them and get the nuances out of them. Mixture .79 is a classic and is still stomping around boldly. I’m glad it’s starting to get noticed more and more again. When I’m in the mood for something somewhat sweet, as I smoke straight unflavored Virginia’s, this is what I go to, and find myself craving it more and more. Maybe it’s the root beer/sarsaparilla flavor that gives me warm memories of my childhood?? Or the comforting true vanilla/minty notes? Whatever it is, I’m wanting more and more of it.
