Since I started drying my tobacco more before smoking it's rare for me to get any gurgling. But that's a preference thing. I started drying mine more to reduce bite and found I had much less gurgling.
I like the Virginias about bone dry, English blends I don't dry as much. I think with it dries more too I'm kind of forced to smoke it slower too, which probably also helps with gurgling. You could try it with a few bowls, see how it works for you and what you think of the flavor. Just dry enough for one bowl at a time so if you don't like it the rest of your tobacco you don't have to rehydrate. I keep mine in jars at the moisture level they came in and dry as much as I needed for each smoke.
