A group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments at the coffee shop.
"My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one.
"Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad; I can't even see my coffee."
"I couldn't even mark an "X" at election time because my hands are so crippled," volunteered a third.
"What? Speak up! What? I can't hear you, said one elderly lady!"
"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said one, to which several nodded weakly in agreement.
"My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy!" exclaimed another.
"I forget where I am, and where I'm going," said another.
"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head.
The others nodded in agreement.
"Well, count your blessings," said a woman cheerfully ... thank God we can all still drive." :puffy:

I have to repeat my old line, so pardon me: Dad died at 89 licensed to drive without glasses.

I am 47 and went to the eye doctors yesterday for the first time. He said OMG you are driving around with blurry vision like this? So I got my first pair of glasses ordered and they are bifocals! Yippie it's official, I'm old!

buster, evidently you haven't been doing much of any close tolerance work? ( I'm guessing you required some magnification because your lens has become less responsive )

And then they proceeded to leave the establishment... They took the ramp onto the expressway and nearly ran me off the road because they couldn't stay in their lane.

Funny and topical for me. My wife and her sisters are attempting to get their 96 year old dad's license revoked. After he got in an accident we were sure his insurance company would cancel him. but no. I'm sure he won't give it up without a fight.
And related to the "kickstand effect", he just married his second wife who is 30 years his junior. Unfortunately she doesn't have a driver's license. I think Julio may outlast her, too. (If he stops driving)
