Hello Friends,
I am new here and I look forward to learning more about pipe and pipe tobacco. I began my tobacco pipe journey in November 2022. I have smoked most types of blends in my brief journey. I prefer English blends to Virginias, and I am not much of a fan of aromatics. I prefer strong, stout blends over milder blends. I also love to support brick-and-mortar shops, so I look forward to finding a few more to support.
I am an ordained Baptist pastor, currently not in vocational ministry, but Lord willing, that will be changing very soon. My wife and I have five kids and my time with my tobacco pipe(s) help me to slow down, reflect, and fight the impulsiveness within me.

Welcome from PA.

That's quite recent...so what got you into smoking pipes? Did you smoke cigars, cigarettes, etc., prior?
Hello there. I'm in PA also! We'll, I would say that I think of days gone by when I think of smoking a pipe. I am an "old fashioned" kind of guy and I've been talking about trying a pipe for years. I finally decided to give it a try and have really enjoyed the hobby. I was also drawn by the skill/craft aspect of pipe smoking, with both the pipes and the tobacco blending.

Right on...if you are ever in the State College neighborhood, be sure to check out J.M. Boswell's in Alexandria (their main shop is in Chambersburg, PA). It's about a 30-40 min drive south from Penn State. You'll hear a few people on here talking about Boswell's either their pipes, tobacco or sometimes meet-ups.
