Welcome! I'm an American living in Germany with my German wife and our sons. There are other Germans on the forum and even the non-Germans seem to be big fans of the tobacco here (HU especially). As far as I can tell Germany is one of the best places on the planet to be a pipe smoker.

I do not know how real it is... but I have heard that Germany and Poland are two regions where pipe smoking can still be considered "commonplace" .... not really common per say ... but more akin to the frequency of practice i remember in the US in the 1960s and 1970s. if this IS true, then each of those nations would be pleasant destinations in this regard.
