Grabow Omega Stem Material

My brother got me a Dr Grabow Omega picked up at an antique store. Modern versions of this pipe list the stem material simply as “plastic.” Considering the patina on this one (assuming it is decently older), is this more likely to be vulcanite? It is indeed sour which tells me it’s sulfur.

It's a military/army mount. Tapered stem into a metal ferrule.

Just army mounts, one is an Arklow straight billiard and the other an Irish Made straight apple. Have yet to get a spigot, perhaps one day.

You got a great Grabow there…a real classic model too. There’s ways to get that stem cleaned up and “de-yuckified”.

Yep, looks like I’m going to bust out some fine grit sandpaper and a bowl of water for that stem.
Apparently it was only $17. Thankful and excited!

If it is sour, it is oxidised vulcanite
