I know Dr. Grabow pipes vary in size quite a bit, even within the same name/line. Therefore, this question is looking for a "generally speaking" type of answer. My Grabow Freehand is by far the biggest Grabow I own; how does the bowl size of the Big Pipe stack up to the Freehand? The reason I ask is because I really like the size and smoking characteristics of my Freehand, but do not want another in the same shape. Besides, you can never have too many billiards, right?

Based on your loading method and the type of tobacco your smoking, the Big Pipe holds just a tad more tobacco then the Freehand, but the difference is hardly worth mentioning. I prefer the Big Pipe over the Freehand for its smoking quality. The thick bowl of the Big Pipe doesn't heat up like the Freehand does and the blend I'm smoking just tastes better, especially aromatics.

As Ray noted not a lot of difference in the two.The Big Pipe is a tad bigger and thicker walled and ain't stamped Dr. Grabow and is not available in as many different shapes as the Freehand. I have one of each in rotation and both smoke great.
