Will someone give some direction on decent cigars that are on the smooth side, and relatively mild.

I generally dislike cigar leaf, but I've tried many highly rated cigars over the years from friends who hoped to get me into them. Of them all, one has consistently stood out to me as my favorite -- Rocky Patel Vintage 1992. Mild, creamy, and chocolatey. I extremely rarely smoke cigars, but if I'm in a situation in which that's the thing to do, and I have a choice, RPV92 is my choice, hands-down, every time.

Perdomo Champagne is a good one. Some other milder cigars I've enjoyed:

Montecristo White cigars are fairly mild, but tasty enough to be enjoyable.
Oliva Connecticuts are a little more flavorful.
Southern Draw Rose of Sharon is quite good.
La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut

Here are my go-to mild cigars:

1. JC Newman Brick House (Was a recent find for me. Very good)
2. La Aroma De Cuba Connecticut. Probably my favorite of this bunch.
3. Perdomo Champagne
4. Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Natural

If you’re ordering from 4noggins, you can get the Perdomo Champagne sampler pack. Arturo Fuente Hemingways are good. (they also have 8-5-8, but I haven’t tried them). Even the Rocky Patel Edge sampler isn’t a horrible choice: I’ve had a few, and they were a little too mild for my taste.

They also have the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real: those were too mild for my taste, almost flavorless.

I meant to say that the cigars in the Rocky Patel Edge series have some good flavor, but most are slightly too mild for my taste. If you haven't had them before, they are worth a try as some of the lower-priced cigars available from 4noggins.

You're probably looking for a Dominican filler with Connecticut wrapper. Macanudo Cafe and AVO Classic would be my recommendation.

Depending on what you mean by "mild," some of the cigars mentioned above are not what I personally would consider mild. There are mild cigars with Nicaraguan filler, such as the Perdomo Champagne, but I would not consider Padron, for example, mild or smooth. Fuente does have some mild cigars, but they also have a lot of peppery cigars. The Chateau series is fairly mild, except for the ones with a Sungrown wrapper.

Happy hunting - if you've found 1 or 2 you like, report back so folks can give you more recommendations.
