Gold Block, a go to pipe tobacco for me in the 1970's but no longer available along with many other pipe tobaccos where I now live.
(Use your B&M tobacconists if you have any as relying upon internet purchases is a definate 'no no' when government and parcel carriers can decide what can be delivered to your door without actually making its use illegal. You may pay extra but it'll be cheaper than driving around searching for that which cannot be found when the tobacco comfort rug is finally pulled from under your feet).
Gold Block, fairly bland possibly and as far as I know not flavored or topped off with anything at all, it did have a good nicotine hit that satisfied me then without any strong aroma/room note that other tobaccos of that time did have. Gold Block seemed to offend no one least of all those who smoked it as it was a very popular UK pipe tobacco.
It's still sold in the UK and continental Europe, just not where I am and the next time I vist I'll try a tin for old times sake and see how it compares to what I once smoked in a different time and life.
