My name is Rich Funkenhouser.. My friends call me Funkhouse. I have lurked in the shadows for a while.. Started with the pipe a few months ago. This has been my single best resource so far with my new hobby. I have always smoked ciggs/cigars and chewed/dipped off and on.. Never pipes. I've been trying to confuse my cigarette addiction by using other means of vitamin n delivery and keeping the monkey on my back off balance.. so far ive really enjoyed my pipes and the recommendations I've found in this forum. I havent had a chance to try mixture #79.. Im sure ill get around it though.

Welcome from the SF Bay Area. I am also a cigarette --> pipe guy. I found keeping some high-octane, full-strength blends around helped me make the transition completely. I quit cigs entirely in July, but then I was at a party and had a couple of American Spirit blacks. So I've mostly been successful.
