Enjoying a nice Habano and was thinking about a box that I ignorantly traded away because I tried one and didn't like the flavors. Remember that most CC's are not aged much, unlike Nicaraguans, Dominicans, etc. Back to the traded CC's... I had purchased a 9 month old box of St. Louis Rey Regios for a nice price. Yes, they were authentic and had factory code and date. Tried one and really was unimpressed. Regios are supposed to taste amazing with baking spices, chocolate cake, cafe con leche and every other wonderful flavor known to man. My box was just...dull.
So, I traded the box for some other CC's that are long gone up in smoke. I should have kept the Regios and let them have a nice 4-5 year sleep. Oh well - live & learn!

I have another cut at it with Cubans. Mediocre tobacco tends to never become fantastic with age. Good to great tobacco ages nicely. That's been my own experience. I wouldn't lament getting rid of them. What's the big deal? Just buy another box.
