A friend of mine sent me a lot of old pipes. No hidden treasures, but some are interesting.

Probably the best of the lot is this Blasted Long Canadian. Looks an awful lot like a Sasieni “Canadian”; the only marking is a circle COM stamp, Made In England. I’m aware of the circle COMs on Peterson’s, unfamiliar with it on any other makers pipes. Should be nice I get it refurbished.

Another one I pulled from the pile. A 1933-1937 Linkman’s Dr Grabow. A little scrub, topped, reamed, sanded.

The nomenclature was real thin. And it had a Kaywoodie stem on it. Not fitted well, and it was 180 degrees out. Reindexed the stem, filed/sanded to make the shank/stem transition smooth.

Needs more work, but it should smoke well. A Frankenstein pipe... Do I call it a Kay-bow, or a Grab-woodie...?
