Can anyone here confirm or refute my impression, based on scant evidence, that GBD Conquest and Collector series pipes bear shape numbers while the Colossus series does not? Pipedia's GBD article pays little to no attention to the oversize series (as is true with Sasieni's KIng Size line on that page).

Hmmm...interesting. I did Google as Craig61a suggested and see you're right. I have two Colosseses, a Virgin taper billiard and a New Era square shank/8-sided panel billiard: neither has a shape number. I also used to have a prince I bought from Smoking Pipes in 2016 and when I checked back just now I see that it too lacked a shape number. Just one (or three) of those things I guess, like U.S. Charatans without an L stamp. Thanks gentlemen.

No camera or know-how, but the next time my "step-daughter" stops by I'll have her do it.

GBDs are one of my favorite old factory pipes. But, information about them is lacking in my experience.
Greg Pease seems to know quite a bit, but I haven't talked to him in a decade or so.
