I found this GBD at a local antique store today here in downtown Sofia, Bulgaria. I’m guessing that it’s from the 60’s, and would appreciate if any was able to confirm.
I’ve spent the last couple hours cleaning it up. Unfortunately, I do not have a buffing wheel or dremel, so I had to settle for some Paragon Wax. The next time I head to George Boyadjiev’s shop I’ll bring this so it can get a proper shine.
GBD (over) New Standard
London Made (over) NS 4039
On the bottom of the stem, near the shank it reads: Tuskan Lip (over) Pat. No (over) 14197 (there are one or two #’s at the beginning of the patent number that I cannot make out).
I wish I could get better pics of the nomenclature. I simply could not get the lighting and focus to cooperate for a good photo.
