hello there
i am new to this forum and must say it looks just like the web site i was looking for.

i am also new to pipe smoking. i was thinking for a long time to replace my cigarettes for a pipe. i tried it for few time long time ago and remembered i liked it.
few week ago i found a Gasparini Vega briar pipe just lying on the street. had it cleaned and steralized and now i use it.
i am thinking of buying one or two more pipes to use. looking for recommendations. i think i preffer to stay with briars or hardwood.
any ideas?
Thanks
Haim

not so young my friend.. not so young
the Gasparini smokes great. it is a half bent pipe so it is very comfortable for me. very easy to light and keeps going perfectly. i use Captain black gold in it and it tastes great.

unfortunately i have very little knowledge about pipes hence the search for recommended pipes to use with it.

Since you are in Israel you might look for some of the pipes made in Israel by the Shalom Pipe Co. They made the Alphas and several other lines. The company is not longer around, they were bought by Mastercraft years ago, which was then merged into Dr. Grabow, which made some Alphas also. The Israel made pipes are stamped Israel.

There are so many good pipes out there it's hard to make a recommendation. What I like you may not. Check out the site sponsors here, there is a huge selection available in a wide variety of prices.
Welcome to the forum!!

I have two made in Israel Masterson freehand pipes and they are on my favorites list for sure. There's one on eBay for $9.99 with 18 hours left and no bids! I will resist.....

Welcome Haimbsh. Glad to have you join the forum. You will find a wealth of information and people willing to answer any question you might have. No question is too silly or trivial to ask. I have learned everything I know from this forum as I had nobody to teach me around where I live. This is a great bunch of people here. Good Luck!
Shalom

Wow, that looks really nice! Great price too! I wish I knew more about "Ideal" pipes. It's this one, right?
