This is my briar & meerschaum drawer clearance sale of mostly artisan pipes from 2013-2019. These six pipes which range from brand new to extremely gently used (10 bowls or fewer with a softee bit, no stem chatter to speak of). Hoping to free up space at home and get some briar brethren some solid deals coming up on IPSD. Prices are firm and will stay posted through IPSD, after which these pipes will be cross-listed to broader audiences in a few other communities. Payment via PayPal F&F accepted. Please PM with any questions as always, and I will of course combine shipping if more than one pipe catches your eye.

Chris Askwith Semi-bent Modern Dublin (Brand New)
If Chris had a premium line, I'd suspect this one would easily make the cut. More reserved in color choices than his typical offerings these days, this gently curved, sandblasted Dublin sports a dress-ready black stain on the stummel and a svelte Cumberland stem with Chris' distinctive pearlescent inlay on the top. He's achieved some seriously organic shaping in this Dublin with a modern take on a classic shape that still manages to maintain stalwart English proportions. This one will be a comfortable clencher with some impressive stem work and gorgeous balance. Original pipe sock included.

Price: Paid $375 all-in, selling for $300 including CONUS shipping.

Length: 6.28 in./159.51 mm.

Ruthenberg Lovat (Brand New)
Brian walks a fine line with this Lovat, ending up with a solid North American artisan's take on an Italian interpretation of a British shape. It's got a lot of neat proportions and features going on that work well together. The geometry of this one can be summed up in two words: visual perfection. The finish on this pipe is also impressively consistent and flawless with absolutely stacked ring grain that is regular and goes all the way around the bowl, which happens to also sport a smooth lid covered in birdseye. The NYH cumberland stem has the most open slot I've ever seen in an artisan pipe, even comparing to some of the "big names" we're all familiar with today. Original leather pipe sock w/ Brian's prestigious caliper logo included.

For this one I'm just asking what I paid for it so it can find a good home, but to be honest I commonly see this type of finish and attention to detail in pipes that run 2-3x what this one did back in 2014, and as many of you know Brian hasn't been carving pipes for quite a while now.

Price: $375 including CONUS shipping.

Briarbird (JasonC) Semi-bent Tomato w/ Smooth Rim (Gently Smoked, ~10 bowls)

This one's a really cool little tomato Jason did a few years back. It sports a nice, light Danish style blast with a stain that really brings out the grain. The stem and color choices he paired with the stain are really what grabbed me... avocado with a lemon "faux bone" kind of insert that reminds me of kitchens in the 50's. The overall gesture of this pipe reminded me of a plump bird, and man is it a comfortable clencher with a wide open draw. I enjoyed VAs and some Black Mallory in this one a handful of times, but I've cleaned and sanitized it so this pipe is ready to go and not ghosted in any way. Original pipe sock included.

Price: I paid $270, asking $185 including CONUS shipping

Length: 5.00 in./127 mm.
Weight: 1.83 oz./51.88 g.
Bowl Height: 1.76 in./44.70 mm.

Cased Altinok Meerschaum Billiard w/ Sterling Silver Band & Tortoise Stem (Gently Smoked, ~10 bowls)

This is a custom made billiard with matching tamper from Altinok back in 2015 with classic shaping and proportions. If you're familiar with the brand, you know they stand for proper engineering and pipes that are made to perform for many years to come. There's not much to this one besides that... just a solid smooth billiard that exudes old school vibes with the full package: classic stem and band, custom case, & matching meerschaum tamper that will color with the pipe.

Price: Paid $230, asking $160 including CONUS shipping

Length: 6.10 in./154.94 mm.
Weight: 1.34 oz./37.99 g.
Bowl Height: 2.00 in./50.80 mm.
Chamber Depth: 1.70 in./43.18 mm.
Chamber Diameter: 0.80 in./20.32 mm.
Outside Diameter: 1.40 in./35.56 mm.
Stem Material: Old School Tortoise Acrylic

Constantino Schussler, An Ode to Ivarsson w/ "Light White Colored Organic Adornment" (Gently Smoked, ~10 bowls)

Constantino is a Chilean artisan who has been on the scene for several years now and gathered quite a following by those familiar with his work. This is his take on an ode to Lars Ivarsson's "cup and ball" style in what is a gorgeous smooth tomato. The attention to detail and complexity baked into this little 5 1/4" pipe is a thing to behold. Constantino's production numbers are quite low, and his smooths new typically sell in the $400 range. I'll be including a custom made suede MarTelo pipe bag with this one (the most appropriate thing I could find) as the original bag has gone missing.

Price: $285 including CONUS shipping

Length: 5.25 in./148.84 mm.
Weight: 2.53 oz./71.72 g.
Bowl Height: 1.58 in./44.78 mm.
Chamber Depth: 1.41 in./39.97 mm.
Chamber Diameter: 0.80 in./20.32 mm.
Outside Diameter: 2.20 in./62.37 mm.
Stem Material: Vulcanite

Briarworks Smooth Contrast Stained Strawberry w/ Plateaux (Gently Smoked, 2-3 bowls)

Description from SP below:
A particularly gestural number, this BriarWorks pipe was designed by pipemaker Todd Johnson specifically for the workshop's Originals series. With its long shank and organically evocative bowl, this Strawberry sports a softly rounded rim surrounding a deep chamber, a result of its bowl being set a bit above the transition. This one wears a handsomely dark contrast stain paired to a gently down-turned saddle stem with a rounded base.- Daniel Bumgardner

I've seen unsmoked smooth estate versions of this shape going for ~$300 these days somehow?, but I paid $180 so I’m thinking $150 w/ CONUS shipping is a more fair price.

Length: 5.68 in./144.27 mm.
Weight: 2.08 oz./58.97 g.
Bowl Height: 1.93 in./49.02 mm.
Chamber Depth: 1.52 in./38.61 mm.
Chamber Diameter: 0.78 in./19.81 mm.
Outside Diameter: 1.75 in./44.45 mm.
Stem Material: Tortoise Shell Style Acrylic

One time price drop of 10% to celebrate IPSD coming up. If these pipes don't sell by Sunday they will be cross-listed on social media and a couple other sites. Snag a deal while they're here.

Yeah I'd be all over that Lovat if it was my size :)
Got a line forming for that lovat now! :-/

Breaks my heart not to keep it as it really is one of the nicest pipes I have ever held, but it's a tad too big for my taste these days. My loss is someone else's gain, I suppose.

Some very nice piecess you have there..........Can you tell us what is gone or available yet and if there are revised prices?

Thanks,

Java3
Thanks! Sure thing. 10% off listed prices above, which includes CONUS shipping.

Schussler, Briarbird, & Askwith are available. The rest are off to their new homes. Got some folks interested in the Briarworks strawberry as of this afternoon but waiting on the first person who offered to either send funds or decline...so pending again it seems.

Briarworks strawberry is back in play, which to me is a little ironic with how much Briarworks is killing it these days in terms of creating really nice smooth pipes on a budget.

Just noticed SP started their 15% off promo for IPSD. I'll match that in what is going to be a final price drop on these remaining pipes.

Briarworks strawberry is gone!

Updated prices below for all that's left, including CONUS shipping. Hoping you guys find these deals as reasonable as I think they are. The Briarbird and Schussler are approaching half off territory after having just a handful of bowls smoked in each, the latter being what most folks would consider a high grade pipe. The Askwith is brand new and over a hundred bucks lower than what you'd pay at a retailer as well.

Schussler: $242
Briarbird: $157
Askwith: $255
