Thank you for the generous offer. Jim's review got me salivating for this, but I thought just like Moztek Strang or the original BS, this was one I'd never get to try. Really looking forward to it.
Very humble man, you are! It's people like you that make these forums great! I always put these blends on the back burner with the intent to make a few large orders from him but alas it appears that I'm out luck. That's unfortunate because I've just recently fallen head over heals with Dockworker. I guess I kind of shied away from his blends because I knew they wouldn't be available much longer.
Sounds delicious! Would be nice if the lucky bunch would all throw a quick review back at this thread, I always appreciate the chance to hear/read reviews of multiple pipers trying the same blend around the same time, and sure others would too!
Isaac
All of the samples went out yesterday (Tuesday). Isaac had a good idea, post your thoughts here when you get around to it. I wish I could've sent more than I did, but at least a bunch will get try a bowl or two.
Glad to hear you think highly of it as well! If forced to pick between Penzance and Fayyum, I'd have to go Fayyum as well. I REALLY hope Hans is able to keep making and selling his blends. I'm reminded of Soup Nazi, not in personality cause he's a super nice guy, but a proud mastery of his craft with customers lined around the block
Just finished my sample. Smoked last night before bed in a Savinelli Oscar 915KS with water and what was left this morning in a MM Country Gentleman with black coffee.
You guys weren't kidding with the "Smooth and Creamy" descriptions --Although I think that's kind of like describing Jessica Alba as "kind of Cute." A bit of an understatement.
The 1st 1/8th of the bowl, I started to wish the flavors weren't so muted - then it really opened up. I got a lot of citrusy VA flavor, and something close to dark chocolate covered raisins. The lat was definately there, but did not cover up other flavors. Very nice.
--Thank you again Nate.

Just had a bowl. Like most, I enjoy the richness and creaminess of this blend. I love smoke that has a density to it that makes me feel as if I can chew it. The sample smelled great, it seemed like it was going to be more lat forward that it actually was (not a bad thing). I certainly enjoyed it, but I think it must be the added orientals that would have me reaching for Penzance or Gaslight first. Thanks again Nate for the opportunity to give this a try, it was very generous of you!
Thanks Nate for the sample. It was a very rich/strong smelling cube that made me think of a dark brownie. I resisted chewing it and instead smoked a wonderful bowl by a campfire. it seemed a fitting choice for such a smoky tobacco. It crumbled apart easily, making packing it a breeze. I found it to be a lot sweeter than I had imagined. It smoked smooth and was full of flavor. It did sour a bit at the end but I probably should have dried it a little longer. Thanks again for the sample, it was a fun endeavor
Very nice gesture! I'm satisfied with Nightcap and have no desire to try another English especially one which may not survive the FDA oppression, but that one looks and sounds yummy.
