Fixing A Burnout on a Will Purdy Tadpole

Bought this plus several other Will Purdy pipes at recent Taurus Auction. this one had a clear burnout .
so this is my non professional fix , I learned this from forum members back in 2016 120 grit sand paper , sand down burnt out area til smooth . With pinky or pen .
then a small pea sized ball of furnace cement with a plastic bag over finger

let dry 24 hrs , lightly sand off any ridges , and bam the pipe will smoke great without the wood further burning out

I was going to ask then check the pictures again if anyone does this to remember a pipe cleaner to keep the hole open lol

I don't get it. You said this pipe had a burnout and yet when you showed the outside there wasn't any sign of a burnout. What I thought I saw on the interior looked just like a place where the cake had chipped or flaked away.

Not an outer visible burnout , but internally, the wood around the drafthole and the bottom of bowl was definitely charred wood … I had previously cleaned the bowl ala the hot water method and scrubbing inner bowl with finger … there was no cake left
