Nice! I love the coloration on trout, but particularly that of Salvelinus.

That looks like the fish we use to catch fish! Joking aside, the coloration is amazing.

Not sure how it is where he's at, but there are plenty of places in the country where catching a native, wild trout, regardless of size, is the trophy in itself.

Yeah it’s a baby. I caught lots that were bigger while I was up there, but very few wild ones-most were state plants in ponds and lakes-and no other brookie was as colorful as that one!

He wanted thicker trim bands and liked the top color scheme. I wrapped this stripping guide for him tonight. He’s in bed for the night so I’ve gotta put the project on hold until he tells me to move forward or change it up...

He wanted to change up the widths of some of the trim bands so I ended up wrapping this same guide probably 10 times. Finally got it dialed in for him, and this is where we ended:



Just got done gluing the tip top on and then I can wrap up the second double foot guide. After that, we’ve got to figure out a pattern for the single foot guides that’s representative of this pattern, while being scaled down and only “one-sided” for those guides.

This one will be epoxied and out the door before too long!

It definitely will. But he’s fine with it. It’s a 9’ XH/MF already, and he’ll be using it primarily for Musky using 6oz+ lures, so he’s got no issues with it getting stouter.

I purposefully chose “stouter” over “stiffer,” because this was taking a left turn pretty quickly...
