I figured I could fit it into two 16oz canning jars - I can usually pack a 2oz tin in a 4oz jar with an espresso tamper. Seemed like I needed 3 jars with only a light pressing. Do you fit a pound into 2? It's sort of a moist ribbon cut. I don't think I could have forced it into two.

I usually split a pound between 4 16 oz. mason jars. That's for ribbon cut or pretty much anything besides a flake.

how many jars? It varies. My coins can fit in a half pound jar perfectly. Some pounds take 2 some take two plus a few masons. Though getting stuff by the pound is so the way to go. It's cheaper I swear most blends are better to slightly better in bulk. Especially GLPease blends. Everyone of those I've gotten in the little tin wasn't quite as nice as what I got in the 8oz coffee can tin. Key Largo has these huge pieces of cigar leaf that you can roll into a little prilla (looks like moose droppings frankly) which when smoked will pop out even more intense cigar notes.
