My first Barling. I picked this up on eBay for a good price and I am in the process of removing an inhouse ghost that seems to be 965 Latakia. It is very tarry and strong. I like my latakia blends but I would like this pipe to be used for the rare aromatic and long Virginia smokes. From reading here, and looking at one of Jesse's responses and the Barling website, I am guessing this pipe was made in the early 60's post family. It is labeled Barling over London England; KING in brackets over 6279; T. V. F. It is a perfect pot for long smokes. I will be tackling the stem oxidation this evening. This is the subtle blast that I really like in estate pipes...smooth from a lot of use.
