Same here - it's not extremely heavy, but still too heavy for my taste.A Ferndown with silver is a decadent thing! I had a spigot one, it was impossibly heavy and I didn't enjoy smoking it. Tudor Root below.

I have nothing against large pipes, as long as they are not too heavy, but here the chamber walls are so thick...Sadly, most Ferndowns are 3 star size - trend to larger sizes. I never found a small Ferndown.

The silver work is top notch too. Les Wood continued to do silver work for Dunhill after he left the company and started Ferndown with his wife, Dolly. I own four of his pipes (including one without a silver band) and enjoy smoking them all.I have a one star. It’s like a group 4 size. Or maybe 3.5.
Ferndowns are excellent quality pipes with nice stems.
