I just demolished a pouch of Borkum Riff Bourbon which I really enjoyed and rummaging through my cellar found Country Squires Sir James which is also flavored with whisky. I'm really digging these whisky topped blends and I'm wondering what else would be worth trying. I see Peterson has an Irish Whisky blend that I'll try, since I've tried most of the Pete/Dunhill blends and I've liked them.

Anything recommendations for some whisky flavored blends I should try?

Thanks.

You hit the jackpot with the Borkum Riff.
Ya I agree, I was genuinely surprised what an excellent classic blend it is. It's going on my stack it deep list.

I am beginning to wonder if all the one star reviews are actually a codger conspiracy to ensure they won't have to do without their Borkum Riff, like the Esoterica/Germaine fans.

It's from folks who haven't learned good smoking techniques thinking that they are getting tongue bite because the tobacco is bad.

This thread reminded me I have a foot of the GH whiskey twist jarred ip (as well as rum) ! I think it'll be time break it out for a taste!
GH twists toppings aren't very obvious and you really have to be looking for them to notice them.

It could be I guess, although I don't really understand how these guys could be failing so hard with Borkum Riff, I smoke pretty hot and fast and I didn't get even a tingle on my tongue?

How do you like the other Borkum Riff blends? Are they worth trying as well?

I recently stumbled across 2 very old dusty and somewhat rusty tins of TheMalthouse Founder's Reserve (by Dan Tobacco) at a local Brick & Mortar tobacco shop that I snatched up. From what I can find this blend doesn't look like it has been imported to the US in many years, Supposed to be a sweet Virginia flavored with Scottish Single Malt Whisky. I haven't popped the tins yet, but would be interested if anyone here has opinions on this blend?

You are technically correct that cognac is not a whiskey but it throw it in the same house. Kissing cousins as they say down South.
Kissing your cousin is wrong…..regardless how pretty she is.
Mixing the grape & the grain is also wrong. Naughty Boy! Lol

I don’t have a favourite whisky blend, they’re all rather mediocre nowadays. I prefer to pair a decent tobacco with a glass of whisky instead. Revor Plug & The Famous Grouse is an exquisite smoke.
