Artists in general have difficulty with society in general, and when they socialize, prefer to do so with others of the same persuasion. They don't feel, think or act the same, and their values are not the same.

If you attempted to talk to Miles Davis and he didn't like the look of you, he would tell you to "f*ck off," I suppose summarizing his feelings at the moment about outsiders.

In sum artists can't be judged according to the values of the bourgeoisie. They live outside the patriarchy.

Also although Jimmy Page was a master, SRV still blows him away.

Does anyone know what would make a good cleaning solvent for scrubbing off carbonation on a oil type lighter.?
My brass zippo insert is completely black, and it doesn’t easily wipe off with a paper towel. I’ve contemplated lighter fluid on a paper towel just for the simplicity of it, but haven’t tried it yet.

I don't question their choices, I just acknowledge that he had his vices for a long time before getting over them. A lot of people just fall into the trap of the industry because they think that's what everyone does so they need to as well. Only a few people I'd say find a utilitarian use for a drug (including anything in this statement, legal/illegal, alcohol, what have you) in the vein of someone like Lemmy.
and it fits with touring really well. you sit on a bus doing nothing then for a few hours you have to be excited and put on a good show with jet lag and stress. It's a big part of the reason a lot of musicians get heavily into drugs because they not only have a very odd lifestyle and way of making a living but then have to put on a show and project energy too. Not saying they all do that or anything just that their situation can be pretty conducive to making bad choices. I think some of todays musicians are less into that stuff because touring is easier. You can scope out a city more easily in advance you can still talk to your family on zoom and many other little things.
