ESCUDO: Do You Rub It Out or Just Stuff It?

I still have lots of Dunhill navy rolls left same thing, kind of, I take two coins fold them in half the fold them down and shove them in my pipe. There is absolutely no right way , do what works for you.

I don't so much "rub it out", as I more "break it up". I think it slows the smoke and preserves some of the flavor.

I won't smoke Escudo anymore, but with coins that size I either roll them into a ball or fold two together.

Unfortunately with Escudo, I leave it in the tin and hide it in my closet. With coins in general, I rub them out to get a more consistent flavor.

Coin cuts like Escudo get rubbed out or cannonballed into the pipe. Rubbed out burns a bit faster.

This thread reminded me of a couple of times of 2023 Escudo I brought with me to FL I decided to pop one and smoke a bowl. Folded two coins in half and stuffed it in my pipe. Here's what the tondo looked like. Delicious!

lightly break it apart basically pull it apart barely. And then stuff it into the pipe. Smokes great that way.

Always cannonball. Seems to take an extra char or two before you can crack into it, but I end up smoking more of the flake that way.
