In regards to the button, can I replace with a Phil pad or similar chalk filter? I’ve only dealt with briar pipes from this period so it’s all new territory for me.

Oh and I’ve had pipes where the button was lost. They are a real pain in the ass and definitely needed a little “pot screen”
