This has become my latest pipe desire and I don't see many modern examples of it. I can only think of the Peterson Milverton as the only factory pipe in this shape. I recently saw a wonderful rendition done by Michael Parks. Then there’s this old KB&B that slipped through my hands.

It seems like this was a more common shape in the past. I’m guessing the band on a diamond shank is a lot of work which is why it’s not so common anymore.

I’d love to see other renditions of this shape, especially ones that are still being produced today.

Never heard the term for this shape before now but I thought it was pretty strange when I bought it. Like it couldn’t make up its mind what to be when it grew up.

This one is by Wally Frank and probably had the most handling marks, minor dings and outright pits of any pipe I’ve ever owned but somehow it just looked well used, well loved and like something I would enjoy smoking. Turns out that is exactly the case. Really enjoy this one and now I know the shape name. Bonus!

Not so much of a shape name as it is a name of a specific pipe like Dr. Grabow's Omega. The Dreadnought was a stubby, tapered stemmed, diamond shaped billiard from BBB.

What's it called when they're not bent?
