Don’t forget about pipes like the Falcon, kind of like turning the entire bottom half of your pipe into a giant stinger.

Otherwise my best bet is a Reverse Calabash should cut down tongue bite more than anything.

Over the years I have owned several pipes with stingers in them, but the only pipe I continue to smoke with a stinger like device inside is my Kirsten pipe. All the others tend to be a hassle to clean. With the Kirsten you can run a pipe cleaner through the stinger to clean it.
