In another thread someone proposed that a "Pipe Person of the Year Award" be created. I argued that we already have an award that addresses this need. That is the "Doctor of Pipes" that is awarded by the Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club each year.
Below is a list of the 30 people who have been recipients of the "Doctor of Pipes" award presented by the CPCC at their annual pipe show. Each year two people are selected to receive this award. One is a professional in the business and the other is a hobbyist. Each nominee must have at least 20 years in the hobby or trade and through his or her activities must have aided in the growth of the hobby. With that criteria you can see this is a very hard group to become a member of.
