So someone told me a straight pipe will smoke hotter than a bent.

Which can cause tongue bite.

Is this true guys?
No.

My experience is that a bent pipe is more likely to smoke wet or gurgle than a straight pipe.
Out of around thirty pipes in my rotation, with an even mix of bent and straight, only two of my pipes need a pipe cleaner half way through the smoke and they're both bent [Why I only smoke them once a week]

As others have said, tongue bite is caused by other factors with moisture of the tobacco at the top of the list.
Cherry tobaccos would be next.

I prefer straight pipes for most of my smoking, but I have plenty of bents. No difference. Unless when you smoke a straight pipe you look like this

Cool pic.

When the environmentalists complain, which they will, just tell 'em that the coal dust is fertilising the plants and trees.
They'll believe it because most of them are really stupid. :)
