Custom or Brand?

I have the opportunity of either a custom, freehand type or a branded Savinelli author shape and I cannot decide. What have you seasoned pipe smokers done when faced with this option? Thank you in advance.

Wouldn’t the opportunity for a brand pipe always be there, whereas the custom might be limited? Nonetheless, if you’ve been smitten the custom freehand type, then go for it ?

Unless it is a well established pipe make I would go with brand.

Don't look too long. I saw a nice estate pipe at a price point that was a little higher than my usual comfort level. I took a few days to think about it. Someone else decided for me, the pipe was gone.

I got a Greek made estate . The seller was willing to knock off $10.
The custom was a concern because of the size.

The same thing the new smokers would do, pick the one I liked the best.
